|
The Mid-America Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit (MAPEHSU) is dedicated to providing expert clinical, consultative, educational, and referral services to improve the recognition and treatment of children's environmental health problems in the mid-America region.
Specifically, we provide medical consultation or advice from a physician or other health care provider with expertise in pediatric environmental health. In addition, pediatric environmental health-focused education and outreach to the medical community and the general public is provided.
The MAPEHSU is located at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. It is one of 11 Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unites (PEHSUs) located in the continental United States. It is administered by the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics and funded by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The MAPEHSU serves EPA Region 7 states, which include Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.
Our regional toll-free number, serving the four-state area, is: 1-800-421-9916.
